What areas in History have truly had their "indigenous" population entirely, or at least almost, replaced by an incoming group of distinctly different people?
For example, how much of Turkey/Anatolia is genuinely descendants of the Turkic invaders? How much of Hungary is turkic? Etc. It seems rare that the entire conquered populace is truly displaced, just that the ruling class is.
