How would a greater Serbia have fared if it managed to form after WW1 and the collapse of Austria Hungary?
Also, was there a feasible way to defend from the expansionist axis members? Itlaly in particular had a hard on for Yugoslavia.>a Greater Serbia may be more coordinated and United than Yugoslavia where ethnic groups had much infighting, some even signing with the enemy >would getting Albania to join be on the cards?>perhaps a deal to be made with Germany was in the table, in which case Italy would need to back off and not attempt to annex all of itI can see some deal Serbia makes where>axis troops can pass through as needed>trade deals with Italy’s Ned Germany>serbia cedes border regions to Italy like Slovenia and Croatia, this way Mussolini can spin it as a victory without needing to expend any blood or money. Much like Germany annexing parts of Europe purely by threat>by the time the war is over and the axis loses, these regions would presumably be returned to greater Serbia (although I wouldn’t be surprised if the west demands they get referendums before they do, in which case Slovenia may not vote to rejoin greater Serbia given its mostly non Serbian, either becoming independent, or uniting with Croatia to form a new nation. Be interesting if they’d vote to join Austria and give them sea access, but that’s incredibly hard to imagine since Austria was part of Nazi germany that threatened them to begin with Also wonder if/how far greater Serbia would go to placate Nazi German. Would it be more neutral like Sweden? Or round up undesirables to be killed like Romania?)This is all presuming greater Serbia arms itself much better than Yugoslavia did prior to the war, tk make taking it just not worth the pain
>>18284965>pointless WWGreece made mistakes to sign 1913 alliance with Serbia.
Are there any natural borders for that region? Or is it just a shitshow with mountains in the middle, rivers everywhere etc
>>18284958That's basically what interwar Yugoslavia was. So it would have fared exactly the same.
>>18284965>Also, was there a feasible way to defend from the expansionist axis members?Uh yeah maybe not allowing the coup that saw Yugoslavia leave the axis a day after joining?
>>18284958What kind of intellectual onanism is this? Yugoslavia=Greater Serbia in feasible way.>language (in half) Serbian>currency is serbian dinar>capital is serbian Belgrade
>>18284958Greater Serbia already existed, it was called Yugoslavia and it was a shithole
>>18285128And no it didn't get fixed in communist times either. 1960s.
