We often associate Romeaboos as perpetuating white supremacy, but from my experience, I find the classical antiquity fanboyism an excuse to push anti-white narratives (the whole brown medchad vs pale nordicuck phenomenon, “muh anglo-german barbarians causing 1000 years of dark ages of barbarism, ignorance, obscurantism; sentiments ironically pushed more by Northern European Enlightenment thinkers themselves). This ignores the fact that there were other Meds and Asiatics like Huns, Avars, Berbers, whom the Romans also saw as barbarians. Funnily enough it seems mainly the Latin Americans, Indians, and MENAs (the westoid ones, not the devout Muslims) who do this; basically people who want to claim the positives of European legacy but seethe over Anglos/Protestants and the fact they aren’t seen as “white,” so they separate the two. Southern Europeans generally see themselves as whites and take pride in their medieval history, arguably more so than Anglos and French. East Asians and sub-Saharan Africans don’t really care that much about European legacy and just do their own thing. Even the Afrocentrists don’t pit Southern Europeans and Northern Europeans against each other; when they say something like “Moors civilized Europe out of the dark ages,” they equally refer to both Meds and Nords, and they claim they also civilized the Ancient Greeks and Romans.
