Rabbi Stephen Wise.

He took control of the Jewish community in America, buddied with FDR, and *constantly* thwarted holocaust rescue schemes done by ordinary Jews.

Closest to Grima Wormtongue irl and it's enraging to read about even if you're anti-semetic. Kids died because of this faggot.

This guy.

>trusted vassal and right hand man to the Hojo regent, the de jure ruler of Japan at the time
>secretly working for the emperor the whole time
>betrays his Hojo master, killing his entire family, and burns his capital to the ground for good measure
>emperor heaps honors and rewards on his head and makes him HIS trusted right hand man
>surely nothing bad will come of this
long story short: he also betrayed the emperor and established a new shogunate afterward.

Too bad his descendants were mostly worthless cretins, Takauji got shit done.

South Korea got exposed back in like 2016 for being run by a feminist cult. One of them in particular convinced the president she could speak with her dead family and ended up doing shit like writing speeches and advising her

This. Dude even sort of looked like Wormtongue. Literally like a cartoon villain. And he was all up in the Russian royal court schemeing and whispering in the royal familys ear.

He was a lot hornier than most cartoon villains. But yeah he seems almost beyond belief.

Isn't she to blame for the fertility crisis in Korea?
>>
>>18285387
Most of the later viziers post Mehmet I with only a few notable exceptions (like Abdul Hamid II).
>>
>>18285977
They are likely the reason South Korea has the lowest fertility in the world, but not the reason there's a crisis, since virtually the entire developed world shares in that crisis. They just pretend it's not a crisis because they can point to South Korea who is further along in the decline than anyone else. "Look, we're not below 1 birth per woman yet! it's fine! we're not south korea!"

Give it time, and America and Europe will catch up.

Just google this. Theres an abundance of examples. Many notable ones are named in this thread. There are probably millions we will never know about. The ones who were good at it wouldn't become notorious for it, they'd fly under the radar.

>>
>>18285387
this trope (also note the trope of "good tsar bad boyars") is necessary for people in monarchical systems to feel able to complain about why things are shit without being arrested for sedition

Not really evil but François-Joseph Le Clerc du Tremblay de Maffliers (alternatively Père Joseph) was the personal confessor of Cardinal Armand-Jean du Plessis, duc de Richelieu. Both men worked together in their desires for anti-habsburg politics and the internal stabilisation of France. Père Joseph used his information network of capuchin monks to keep Richelieu well informed about the political and social events in Europe and even the Americas and Asia. And while Père Joseph didn't hold and official political role, it was still recognised that he was the second (mostly unseen) man behind Richelieu, who was the Lieutenant-Général of the french King.

The Sabbateans kind of are one. Wise was confirmed to be one by his mistress. They were very enthusiastic about certain events...

Nah, he was basically just a successful grifter, not a shot caller. Rasputin wasn't even the first fake magic healer charlatan the royal family fell for. They were basically like modern crystal-homeophaty-essential oils moms, falling for every quazi-spiritual fad that got popular in Russian high society. Rasputin became such a mystic celeb at one point, think of someone like John of God for a modern paralel, the kind of guy who goes on Oprah to promote his fake health remedies, has some overpriced private coaching program etc.

Rasputin just wanted to get rich and get to fuck groupies and hookers, and thought that he hit the jackpot when he conned the royals. And he could have gotten away with it but when people started turning against the royals he became a convenient scapegoat.
>>
>>18285387
Henry Kissinger and every president he served under.
>>
>>18287370
Rasputin didn't just want to get rich and fuck groupies, the real reason for his downfall is that he pissed off powerful figures in the imperial court by using his influence with the Romanovs to replace them/their favorites with his favorites.

There's a reason he met his end in an assassination plot involving a grand duke, and not a mob of workers/peasants beating him to death in the streets
>>
> Wei Zhongxian

A former street gambler who became a powerful eunuch. He controlled the secret police (the Eastern Depot), installed his own loyalists in key positions, and had critics tortured and killed. The Tianqi Emperor (reigned 1620-1627) was was completely dominated by him, utterly disinterested in governance and preferred carpentry. Temples were even built in Wei's honor during the emperor's lifetime.

Napoleon III served a similar role to Maximilian I, that Hapsburg that tried to found an empire in Mexico. He never got to the proper Wormtongue status since Maximilian's rule was never truly consolidated, but if the empire had been successful, Mexico would have been de facto a French vassal at least for a while because of how extremely onerous the conditions of the loans were. Of course Napoleon III died in exile, disgraced, less than a decade after Maximilian was executed by Mexicans, so who really knows what could have been.
>>
>>18287413
The first thing Maxl did on becoming emperor was negotiate for better deals between Mexico, the Church, and France. If he'd got that deal with Pius IX (worst and most arrogant pope in centuries) then France would have had to be content with the loot they'd already looted, without further extortion. France was already unpopular in Europe for several reasons and, as you note, were about to get their shit pushed in by the boche.
