what makes the difference between art and entertainment in your opinion?are they completely different things or one side of the same coin? where does the distinctions begin and end? is it just the intent behind it?
It's likely that art has purpose or inspiration from above whereas entertainment is more of and for the masses.
>>18288234>Shit I like: art>Shit I don't like: crap
>>18288234Nothing. Art is anything made by people that doesn't serve a practical function. 100% of entertainment is art.
>>18288234Art is made for cultural/intellectual purposes and isn't intended to please everyone, while entertainment is made for profit and is thus intended to appeal to as many people as possible
>>18288234Art can be entertaining, and not all entertainment is art but you can say entertainment is artistic
>>18288234Entertainment is mostly a product that is designed intentionally to have as broad of an appeal as possible to a certain demographic (or the widest possible demographic depending on marketing strategy) to maximize profits. Art is an expression of a deep feeling which comes from a place that doesn't necessarily need validation or monetary reward. Each of those definitions live on the far end of two poles across a continua, and most media will sit somewhere on that continua.
