non-western cultures adopting the practice of national anthems is so cucky, forced, and silly.

The Chinese have had a concept of National Anthems earlier than the west. They were called "Songs of the States" and some of the earliest poetry in China were such songs.

What made them different from modern National Anthems was that they honored the rulers, not some national entity. The Qing Dynasty's anthem was exactly that.
