>Neolitich, bows, atlatls, ranged weapons dominate>Age of metals>Armor is invented>You have greeks moving losely one by one charging persian missilecels and forming ranks at the last second before slaughtering them allThe invention of metals shifted the game toward glorious melee combat and the time of heroes. You could have 50 men that were immune to whatever you would throw at them slaughter hundreeds of neolitich cavemen bow wielders.Cavalry, bows and all other was powerless toward the armored Warrior
>>18290523That shield looks too kino
>>18290523>the time of heroesmore like hooligans by your description, my heroes are those chinese alchemistts paving way to total hooligan extinction
>>18290575>total hooligan extinctionRude. Hooligans dont spend the time to make themselves neat armor or polish their weapons. There is an art to war, too!War and magic are forever intertwined.
>>18290523Reminder that Persia winning would've been a better world. (Alexander the Great knew this too)
>needing metals to have classical style armies and civilizationcringeAlso even in Classical European, Mesoamerican, and i'm sure Asian warfare, you till had projectiles playing a major role
>>18290575there's an art to hooliganism too!
>>18290636>classical style armiesflower wars were mostly about single combat and taking trophy captives thoughaztecs never really fought in formationcomparing this type of fighting to that demonstrated by Romans or Greeks is silly
>>18290636Aztecs didn't have lead slingshot and their archers used stone tipped arrows.
>>18290665Flower Wars were not normal wars and also weren't necessarily about single combat. Also...>>18290674I didn't post the Aztec, because the Aztec had metallurgy and some use of Bronze, I posted the Teotihuacanos. Both of them would be using Atlatl more then bows in any case, and both Classical and Mesoamerican armies had some similar tactics and trends in how they did battles EX: opening projectile vollies before moving in with melee infantry with some skirmishers continuing to use projectile weapons.
>>18290523>Cavalry, bows and all other was powerless toward the armored WarriorAnd yet, Alexander's legacy was lost totally with the Arabs, Parthians, and Turks.God's favor alone dictates who wins on the battlefield.
