Does anyone else spend an inordinate amount of time just thinking about people who lived hundreds or even thousands of years ago?I don't just mean Caesar or Napoleon or Alexander, though of course great figures do often pass through my mind. But I especially feel a lot of empathy and kinship with those countless, nameless humans who came before me. Not because they did anything noteworthy, but because they existed and suffered just like me and everyone else. And I feel I have an obligation to them to try and remember that they were here, and I hope that some day centuries from now the notion of my own existence might pass through the mind of someone else.
>>18291657Not really but prehistory and especially the ice age period and shortly afterwards really fascinates me for some reason. 10s of thousands of years with no written record and whatever archaeological evidence there is will never be able to tell the whole story of what people experienced whether be it good or bad.
