>>18292854As a catechuman beginning my Orthodox conversion from Agnosticism (family is non-denomination Christian I just didn't have a strong faith) who isn't an incel, I gravitated towards Orthodoxy because of its decentralized and grounded nature. Its all about the mysticism of the Bible and having that unknowing and knowing relationship with God. It feels much more personal to live in search for the answers (and accepting that there may not be) within the Orthodox way rather than Catholicism or other denominations grasping for concrete solutions out of the box, or even more so backbending apologetics. The bible has its flaws (historically we can note the septuagint being written over the span 150 years by multiple different authors) but I can see its worth and allow it to guide me towards a stronger bond with God and a stronger self.

It's confusing and disheartening to see so many mistake severely misguided and hateful chronically-online "Orthodoxy or Death" LARPers as legitimate representatives of the Orthodox faith. >>18295007Nah, it's not an ethnic religion. It's a common misconception. For example in the United States or the United Kingdom the liturgy and the other services would be in English. Sometimes there are individual parishes in English speaking countries that were expressly built for immigrant communities that don't speak English, but the vast majority of parishes in English-speaking countries will typically be a combination of English and traditional Greek/Russian/Romanian, etc. that is understandable by both English and non-English speakers.
