THE RUSSIAN REVOLUTION
During the last few years, the crisis of the Russian Empire had been both economic and political, and the combination of the two worsened the situation. In 1914, Russia began its participation in World War I, which accelerated its revolution. The shortage of food and the lack of industrial goods were a consequence of Russia's involvement in the war, as the Tsar preferred to feed the army and concentrate resources on the war, which ultimately led to the revolution of 1917.
