Muslim arguments are so dumb that an entire new informal fallacy was discovered because of them. It's called the "exact word fallacy".
>>18329373>exact word fallacythis is the first i've heard of it. what is it?
>>18329392>Copied AI OverviewThe exact word fallacy (or word-concept fallacy) is a logical error where a person argues that a concept or idea is not present because specific, exact words are absent from a text or statement. This fallacy wrongly equates meaning with specific vocabulary rather than the broader content, often used to dismiss arguments by demanding precise phrasing, such as demanding a Bible verse to say "I am God" to prove Jesus' deity.
>>18329373They lie so much it’s genuinely absurd. There is no evidence to suggest that the ancient Israelites were Muslims and in fact, actual archeological evidence shows that Yahwism, aka proto-Judaism, evolved out of Canaanite paganism (though that’s an entirely different discussion I’m not going to get into here). There is no evidence to suggest that early Christians were basically Muslim. Based on contemporary Roman pagan accounts of Christianity such as Tacitus’ Annals, Pliny the Younger’s letters, and even explicitly anti-Christian works like Celsus’ The True Word and Porphyry of Tyre’s Against the Christians, it is pretty clear that early Christians much had the same (or at the very least, mostly similar) beliefs and practices as present-day Christianity.
>>18329373fortunately, it is no match for the "lead bullet through the skull" gambit.
>>18329397Being a kike or a christian or a muslim is basically raising your ass up in the air to get raped by an ancient canaanite demon so what difference does it make
>>18329395i think this is just a mix-up between muslim and western epistemology. i'd hardly think the muslims you're arguing with are saying that the absence of the "exact word" necessarily means the "idea is not present".muslims tend to think in terms of interpretation. just look at the quran:>in it are verses [that are] precise - they are the foundation of the Book - and others unspecific. As for those in whose hearts is deviation [from truth], they will follow that of it which is unspecific, seeking discord and seeking an interpretation [suitable to them]muslims think a doctrine of such importance like trinity would need to be "qualified" by exact and clear (often repeated) statements of truth such as those found in the quran. eg, "god is all knowing", "god established himself above the throne".muslims think the doctrine of trinity relies on these "unspecific" or ambiguous verses of the bible, and thus on interpretation. and for muslims this is highly suspect.while westerners tend to think that personal or inherited interpretation is enough to accept a doctrine.
>>18329373>Muslim argumentsI don't want to hear them unless they're funny
>>18329397>it is pretty clear that early Christians much had the same (or at the very least, mostly similar) beliefs and practices as present-day Christianity.Going by Irenaeus's Against Heresies I would not say this was not the case, they were believing all kinds of "heretical" stuff.
>Taqiyya (or taqiyah) is an Islamic principle allowing Muslims to conceal their faith or deny religious beliefs in situations of mortal danger or severe persecution for self-preservation, originating primarily in Shi'ism but also recognized in Sunni traditions.Muslims are literally encouraged to lie about their true beliefs to make Islam look better, all the while following a holy book that repeatedly and explicitly states all non muslims are subhuman enemies that should be conquered, enslaved, or destroyed. Expecting honest and open discussion with these kinds of people is insane. Of course, that's assuming that they're a real proper muslim to begin with, most haven't even read their own holy texts all the way through.
