>Half of Japan's Samurai class were women, a groundbreaking exhibition at the British Museum has claimed.

Ignoring the dumb article why did japan have female combatants like Kamakura Zaimokuza?
Is it because they're all manlets so it wouldn't matter?
>>
>>18329564
every now and then you'd get besieged while most of men were at war and since japanese households weren't as secure as european castles you actually needed an onnabushi to oversee the defense
>>
>>18329554
Onna Bugeisha are not Samurai, they don't occupy the same social position, and they also use different signature weapon, Naginata spear instead of Katana sword
>>
>>18329584
they were still part of the professional warrior class generally called samurai.
>>
>>18329554
Holy shit. Next you'll tell me that half of European aristocrats were women. Maybe even half of peasants were women.

Rage baiting slop for boomers. Think daily express only worse.
It seems all the British museum has actually said is from the 17th century on women in the samurai class (IE wives and daughters) were important patreons of art and had a role in local government. Which is pretty uncontroversial.
