Mythologically speaking, why did Zeus keep cuckholding his wife?

Religion, myths, and the gods were part of the mass media of the day
There wasn't a clear separation like we have now with say, Jesus being an untouchable distant figure and Superman being a relatable moral paragon but earmarked for entertainment. Heracles gets to be both
So Zeus can simultaneously be daddy God and Greek boomer humour "haha muh angry wife bad" type shit
>>

Every ancient king behaved like this, so the king of the gods wasn't considered an exception.

Kinda tired of this midwit take
We will never understand myths because we're all modern liberals

he did cuckold her in the real sense that she sometimes raised those kids of his, between humans usually the husband is the cuckold raising somebody else's child

Zeus swallowed Eros (desire, libido) in order to gain the power of creation. Zeus embodies the overriding power and divinity of Life in the Cosmos. So imagine these stories telling you how Zeus a.k.a Life-force has a natural desire for creation that will always cause problems and how Life-force, as the divine order of the Cosmos, will be disruptive, a kind of creative destruction coming from Zeus' generative power.

This also implies competition, so Zeus (Life) disrupts households by making matrons compete with other women. Zeus's eros, Life's desire to generate, creates on the one hand new powerful beings, but on the other hand also instigates new, disruptive, and antagonistic relations as a consequence.

And since Zeus, Life-force and its lust to generate and perpetuate is eternal, one should always be prepared for new things to be created and conflict to arise from those new things being created

You say this but most Christians litteraly believe they consume the flesh and blood of christ when going to church. They believe if they "pray" God will like help them out and shit.

Indo-European mythology is primarily descriptive, not prescriptive. This anon is on the right track >>18345252

You can't cuckold a woman.
>>
>>18345780
Even for "women can't rape" defenders, I think women can 100% get cuckolded.
>>
>>18345834
>"women can't rape"
Rape is the theft of a woman from a man. From raptio = theft.
>I think women can 100% get cuckolded.
Cuckolding is making a man raise your child (or at least the risk of it, ie. banging his wife). From the cuckoo = a brood parasite bird.

So there could be human children of Zeus. In all these stories of Zeus cheating, it ALWAYS results in offspring, usually male offspring, and they're the focus of their own myths. "Zeus fucked some lady" is the standard hero origin story.
>>
So that everyone could be a close descendant of his.

Women deserved to be cuckolded as much as possible. Plus Hera was a manipulative cruel bitch whom based Zeus probably got bored of.

Just a little over half a century in the US a husband could fuck all the side pussy he wanted and the wife wouldn't & couldn't say shit. You didn't have to be a god either. Married Bob at the factory drunk on Pabst Blue Ribbon and fucking the barmaid in his truck every weekend. Bob comes home smelling of pussy and vomit and the wifey cleaned him up and got him and the kids ready for church.

They were chosen in Ionian/Athenian mythology... You should figure out by now that the Ionian/Athenian version of classical mythology is the surviving one and they were a spiteful bunch. It's why Theseus rears his head in myths where it doesn't make sense for him to, because Athenians fucking loved him and they wanted to put him on the same level as Herakles. It's also why Hera constantly comes off as a super-cunt, because she was beloved by Argos and Mycenae, cities that Athens feuded with.

So we know that Theseus is the son of Aegeus and/or Poseidon, right? And we know that Theseus was only born after Aegeus receives advice on how to have kids from the Oracle of Delphi, and marries Medea (after she has killed her children as revenge against Jason), who Theseus will eventually chase away. That means that Theseus has to be born after Jason and the Argonauts' quest for the Golden Fleece. All good so far.

The first major problem is that Theseus is often listed as an Argonaut himself (by Pseudo-Apollodorus and Hyginus, for example). This makes no sense, but whatever, plenty of other sources don't include him, most notably Apollonius, whose Argonautika is arguably the most prominent account of the story.

However. Apollonius does in fact mention Theseus, though not as an Argonaut - he tells us that Theseus' mission to Crete, slaying the Minotaur and rescuing (then abandoning) Ariadne, has already happened by the time the quest for the Golden Fleece takes place! This makes even less sense than before!

OK. We can put that aside. Not every source for the Argonauts story mentions Theseus, so we can at least ignore these sources to a certain extent and rationalise a version of events where the voyage of the Argo takes place before Theseus is born, right?

Wrong! Because, though Theseus' role as an Argonaut is inconsistent, every single source for the Argonauts lists Castor and Polydeuces, the Dioscuri, as members of the crew. What's wrong with this?

Well, Castor and Polydeuces are the twin brothers of Helen and Clytemnestra. Helen will go on to be kidnapped by Theseus at the age of twelve. The implication, obviously, is that Theseus is much older than Helen when he does this, especially as it takes place after his mission to Crete etc, and the death of his fully grown son Hippolytus. But that's impossible if Helen's twin brothers were alive and old enough to sail on the Argo before Theseus himself was even born!

They politicised Theseus beyond all belief to make him seem just as awesome as Herakles. But it never worked out. I mean, really. Herakles completes 12 labours, Theseus 6. Herakles goes all over the world and beyond, Theseus the little highway from Athens to Troezen. Herakles does shit like divert a river or hold up the sky, Theseus catches a serial killer and kills a giant snapping turtle. Herakles hunts and triumphs over the Erymanthian Boar, Theseus loses the Calydonian Boar to Atalanta. Herakles goes to the Underworld and takes Hades' personal guardian with him, Theseus goes to the Underworld and gets stuck on a chair until Herakles comes back to the Underworld to rescue him. Herakles impregnates fifty virgins in one night, Theseus barely makes it to five. Herakles' father is Zeus, Theseus' father is Poseidon. Herakles founds half the city states of Greece and the Mediterranean in one way or another, Theseus doesn't even found Athens he just inherits it.

Based Herakles enjoyer.
>Herakles impregnates fifty virgins in one night,
It's fifty virgins in fifty nights in my copy, but yours sounds more fun.

As a former catholic who engaged in Jesus-eating, he was definitely still distant. Jesus was made out to be a sinless perfect figure who would intercede for us, but I could never have imagined being his bro. Maybe proties had a different experience but prayer felt more like petitioning a high king

Ok see but Ixion’s mistake was not appealing to Hera in the first place. He wronged Xenia’s morays.

If it were me I would appeal to Hera as a mommy-son relationship from the outset and SS means straight shota. Don’t look it up.
Why shouldn’t a 3’ version of me dance between those heavenly legs?
