You can't pray when you can't focus. You can't hear God in the silence when your internal monologue is just a stream of half-processed Twitter arguments and TikTok videos. The whole digital medium is designed as an addiction machine that directly antagonizes the contemplative attention that religious experience demands. It's not even about the content anymore, you could be scrolling through Bible verses and it would still wreck you because the medium itself trains you to consume rather than contemplate. Pretty grim when you realize your relationship with your phone is functionally incompatible with your relationship with the divine.

I suppose I've always been too autistic for that aspect of religion. Ever since I was a kid religion has not really felt like anything at all. I was active churchgoer until my adulthood because of my religious parents but genuinely could not describe what "spiritual" even means, I have never experienced it.
