Not really.
Additionally, dehumanizing the enemy is never justified but the grunts in the army will do it anyways regardless.
Hating Imperial Japan (by that I mean it's government and officials) however is completely justified. They committed war crimes and countless atrocities against the Chinese and other Asian peoples, they are the antithesis of modern Japan. As an otaku that loves the latter it's natural that I would hate the former.
