>>18357346The Andalusians migrated mostly to the Ottoman Empire
>>18357346They went back to North Africa settling in major cities, likes Fes, Oran, Kairouan, and so on..
>>18357346I guess the poor people could only pay to go to North Africa. The richer ones went to richer places in the Middle East.
>>18358198i think a bunch of the richer ones made it back to syria
>>18358185The ones born out of wedlock fled to the Middle East as they were rejected by wider of Andalusian community.
>>18358266Make sense i've seen many Middle Easterners claiming North African descent yet they are all over the place in term of phenotype.
>>18357346Mostly to North Africa, but they didn't assimilate well, there was a letter of moriscos to Philip III asking him to let them go back because they were having a bad time assimilating with Moors in the Maghreb.
They migrated to Maghreb and basically assimilated into the wider Maghrebi society, becoming known as a literate urban class. Several cities had prominent Andalusi populations, and several towns were founded by them
>>18357346Some went to Morocco and engaged in piracy. I was in Rabat last year and just across from the city is another city which sits on the coast, and it was home to many Moriscos.
>>18358942This.>The Republic of Salé, also known as the Bou Regreg Republic and the Republic of the Two Banks, was a city-state maritime corsair republic based at Salé in Morocco during the 17th century, located at the mouth of the Bou Regreg river. It was founded by Moors and Moriscos from the town of Hornachos, in western Spain. The Moriscos were the descendants of Muslims who were nominally converted to Christianity, and were subject to mass deportation during Philip III's reign, following the expulsion of the Moriscos decrees. The republic's main commercial activities were the Barbary slave trade and piracy during its brief existence in the 17th century. A Moorish republic, it was culturally Arabic, Andalusian, and Berber.

>>18357346They went to North Africa and become Barbary pirates
First waves out spread all across the Ottoman Empire, the era where they were called moriscos was after they were forcibly converted during the inquisition, they essentially became Christians but were still kicked out like 200 years later due to ethnic heritage or if a person in Spain looked too brown, these later expulsions called the moriscos went to the maghreb and didn’t really assimilate well, after converting back to Islam many became pirates
>>18360282>>18360285So did the Barbary pirates kidnap whites as a way of getting back at whites (spainards) for kicking them out? Or was that irrelevant?
