why are his pupils so extremely dilated in literally every picture of him?
>>18358714Hours of watching BBCs fucking white women will do that to you. Apparently he would let his colored troops run rampant on Confederate women while he watched in the corner.
He led a brutal campaign of total war and he had a normal man's conscience about the sort of things he had to do in that campaign. He just had a much stronger conviction about the righteousness of his cause than most men, which is why he committed to it, and saw it through.
>>18358740I really think this is the defining mark of a great man: someone who understands the imperfections of the system, and the imperfect methods used to preserve and protect it, and doing what's necessary in spite of your reservations.

>>18358740What makes Sherman fascinating is that later on he became a pacifist advocate against the US military.>>18358717That's what the Confederates wanted. Sherman shut down their mulatto stud farms.

>>18358714Because for all of the great crusade grandstanding at the time, Sherman understood just how horrible war is. Civil conflicts especially, even if the South started it, Sherman knew he was ordering Americans to not only shoot and kill other Americans, but to ravage a sizable chunk of their own home country. He knew just what needed to be done to end the war with as few casualties as possible, and he HATED it. He didn’t care really about the slavery question until well into the war when abolition and systematic slave liberation was made military policy by those above him. Not to mention while he was a Northerner, he did have some connections in the Southern states, Louisiana especially: he was the first president of what would become LSU, and even made donations to the college after the end of the war. At the end of the day, Sherman wasn’t this righteous crusader sweeping through the South to impose God and John Brown’s justice. He was an officer in a civil war who really really didn’t want to be an officer in a civil war. To quote from a letter written years before his and now mostly lost “War is all Hell” speech:“I confess, without shame, I am sick and tired of fighting—its glory is all moonshine; even success the most brilliant is over dead and mangled bodies, with the anguish and lamentations of distant families, appealing to me for sons, husbands and fathers... tis only those who have never heard a shot, never heard the shriek and groans of the wounded and lacerated... that cry aloud for more blood, more vengeance, more desolation.“
>>18358740>righteousness of his causeThat is justification for terrorizing the civilian population. Let lose an army to plunder, destroy, gang rape all females and murder.
>>18358714What he did is no different than what the Japanese did in China in the 30's.
>>18360356>Sherman has all threeSo many Southern belles defiled by BYC.
>>18362759You mean BBC. White Northern men would quietly watch as their colored brethren went to town on Southern women. It was the start of BLACKED and the BMWF cuckoldry that Northern white men love even to this today.
>>18358717Imagine being a former slave and getting to rape the race that enslaved you. That must have been a really triumphant experience.
>>18358717>>18362778>>18362774The ONLY documented case of black males having wild hot sex with their former owners was in the instance of Gulda Baruch, a jewish slave owning woman who had her slaves emancipated by a colored brigade who then took to taking care of her feminine needs.

>>18358714The face of a man realizing that his firstborn son was now a Jesuit priest.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Tecumseh_Sherman#Religious_views>Sherman wrote to his wife in 1842: "I believe in good works rather than faith." In letters written in 1865 to Thomas, his eldest surviving son, General Sherman said "I don't want you to be a soldier or a priest, but a good useful man", and complained that Thomas's mother Ellen "thinks religion is so important that everything else must give way to it". Thomas's decision to abandon his career as a lawyer in 1878 to join the Jesuits and prepare for the Catholic priesthood caused Sherman profound distress, and he referred to it as a "great calamity".
