Americans be like "I hate Iran for holding our citizens hostage, so I'm going to vote for the guy who sabotaged the hostage release and also sold Iran weapons"
Americans voted for Reagan because Carter told them to stop being fat retards who spend money they don't have on things they don't need
this senile piece of fucking shit destroyed Cali forever.
""Anti-communist"" btw
>>18358794thisreagan was the result of a boomer temper trantrum that ended up destroying the USthe most spoiled entitled generation in human history
>>18358771Those are way too many words and logic steps for a voter in a liberal democracy
>>18358794>how not to get elected by boomers
>>18358794>>18358892Carter was a lousy president thoughbeit
>>18358794Carter had identical economic policies, he just told the truth about what the consequences would be instead of lying
>>18359646Literally fucking this. Carter completely gutted american welfare, gutted the regulations that helped prevent recessions and stood alongside reagan cock in hand while the thirdies nationalised their oil. Richard Nixon and Eisenhower were both massively to the left economically of Carter and I still have no clue why leftists still praise that utter retard.
>>18358794>>18358892>>18358899I don't know when this meme started but Carter's popularity was already way underwater by the time he made his little speech. Liberal framing of his term treated it as if the economy was doing well and everyone was happe, the he spoiled the party by warning everyone about consumerism, which then made the public turn on him. In reality the economy fucking sucked, morale was low, and that low morale is the reason he made his speech talking about the malaise gripping America. Not some wise words "warning" people, he was talking about shit everyone was already experiencing. He fucking sucked, the economy fucking sucked and people were sick of him. That's why they voted for Reagan you fucking spergs.
>>18358794Americans voted for Reagan because Carter was weak and ineffective.
That Michael Moore film unironically convinced younger generations that the economy boomed under Carter and people voted for Reagan because Carter warned them about Capitalism or something. I honestly couldn't believe how brazen that lie is, but it's not even the most egregious in the film. Portraying Obama as a man of the people while simultaneously saying that the bailout was treason against America, then neglecting to show that Obama voted for it was somehow even more brazen. He also made sure to include clips of Bush endorsing the bailout and neglected to give even the slightest hint to the viewer that Republicans were the ones who blocked the bailout from passing at first, or that even when it finally passed there was more opposition from the Republicans than from the Democrats.
>>18358794The funny thing is they were both staunch austerity neoliberals and even had the same Fed chairman. Reagan just changed the message from >"You consooom too much and you should feel bad" into >"You deserve to consooom as much as you want because you're a very special boy who deserves everything you have and more, but it's all those lazy undeserving people who consooom too much and they're stealing from you!"
>>18358794Carter told people to stop spending money and they did and the economy crashed overnight which destroyed his campaign because the mob only notices when things go bad
>>18359930
>>18359930The economy was already crashing and there was an energy crisis. Jesus Christ you people literally delve into fanfictions to justify your own assumptions.
>>18358771This thread is garbage because its first reply is a blatant falsehood and because it has a lot of (You)s any new lurker and poster will assume it's true because that's how the average NPC mind works.
>>18360044there were warning signs yes and he was worried it was going to happen before the election and fuck up the economy, these people apparently only care about their position, go figure. But he was told by the eggheads the cause of the stagflation was consumer spending or some shit, so he went on the talkbox and told everybody to stop spending money so frivolously, so they did, which exacerbated the crash and lost him the election. it reminds me of nixon putting the US on the petrodollar because the rockefellers and kissinger said it would get him reelected
>>18360057>there were warning signs yes and he was worried it was going to happen before the election and fuck up the economyThe economy was fucked way way waaaay before he made his stupid speech you retard. Fuck off with your retarded lib retcon.
>>18359753did I mention that Moore is not a Republican? i mean he clearly had an agenda he was pushing here.
>>18359652wish i knew what kind of hallucinogens this poster was on when he typed this
>>18361925>calls the bailout treason>in the same breath hails obama as the people's champion>makes sure to show clips of bush pushing for the bailout>said the first vote on the bailout failed thanks to outcries from the people>claims the second vote passed because some dem politicians were bribedAn uninformed viewer gets the impression from this that Republicans voted for the bailout and Democrats voted against, and that the big evil bankers eventually got the vote over the line by bribing some Dems. In reality in both the first and second vote Republicans were the obstacle for the bailout. And of course, he's radio silent on Obama voting yes on the bailout. If Moore really was above partisan politics he wouldn't have been deceptive and slimy in his framing of events.
These presidents gave nukes to India and china
Nobody liked Carter after the first few months of his administration when the initial thrill of being not Nixon wore off.
