Jesus is referred to as "Rabbi" by his followers throughout the NT>John 1:38 >John 1:49 >John 3:2 >Mark 9:5 >Mark 14:45 Yet modern (mostly right-wing bigoted) Christians still pretend their religion is antisemitic lol
You wanted them to speak in Latin?, its just a word, retard. Do you think were dolpbins to communicate without words?. The important part is the meaning. You retards get dumber each passing day
Another religion spam thread, exactly the thing the board could use more of.
>>18360784>It's just a word, retardSpecifically it's a title for a religious leader that's only found in Judaism so, yeah, it bares some serious relevance to the overarching text
>>18360780>Yet modern (mostly right-wing bigoted) Christians still pretend their religion is antisemiticWell it kind of was for 1,500 years.
>>18360780 Rabbi meant teacher also he wasn’t Jewish but a Galilean . There are several discriptions of him with blond hair and blue eyes.
>>18360798It literally means teacher, retard. He even broke Jewish tradition by teaching mary, she called him rabboni (endearment). Your ignorance is showing in each and every thread.
>>18360807It's the Jewish word for teacher (with religious connotations), stop coping
>>18360802You mean from the Pontius letter that has been denounced as a Renaissance era forgery even by the Vatican?
>>18360832No shit they were gonna use the appropriate word for their language and cultureDid they really?, i cant believe it!!! Their definition of teacher is so different from all othrr cultures!!!Thanks for opening my mind
>>18360834I accept your concession
>>18360784>>18360802it's funny how polcels will call everyone Jewish but the literally circumcised Rabbi teaching Jewish books? Nah, hes not Jewish
>>18360780Hey a least these Christian’s know who the master is.https://youtu.be/p2_p_qwIyZ4
Judaism is as much of an artificial construct as Hinduism and didn't really exist in Jesus's day in any sense it would be recognised today.
>>18360780rabinic judaism was only created over a hundred years after jesus' death
>>18360851The same could be said about the first three hundred years of chrttianity as it tried to seperate itself from temple Judaism. They couldn’t even figure out the trinity there was Arian chrtianity gnostics marcionities. Finally by council of nicia they where getting somewhere.
>>18360856christianity has nothing to do with judaism, these religions are almost antithesis of one another
>>18360852False
In the 1st century there were several tribes in Palestine which all worshiped YHWH but had widely different rituals and not all of them followed every part of the Mosaic law. the Judaism we know today was a construct of the post-Roman revolt period much like how Hinduism was invented by Indian nationalists when they just consolidated the diverse regional cults around the subcontinent into one supra-religion.
>>18360859John 4:22, dipshit
>>18360780Pastor Greg lock is ok with Jesus being Jewish he truly is a vessel of Christs teachingshttps://youtu.be/qN4WjbXi_e8
>>18360865context, pharisee
>>18360873The context was an intrasemitic feud between competing Jewish sects, it only makes the quote MORE Jewish
i am so fucking done with fucking kikes telling me about my religion like you wouldn't believe
>>18360875it's not it's jesus telling some random samaritan woman that he is the messiah jews fortoldget fucked shlomo this has nothing to do with you
>>18360780Yeah but he wouldn't have been a Rabbi in the modern ordained sense since this literally didn't exist in Judaism at the time and wouldn't until the destruction of the Temple. It simply meant teacher or master in both Hebrew and Aramaic which in Greek is didaskalos which Jesus is also called in the NT (Matthew 12:38, Mark 12:32, John 1:38). There was also a variant of this in Aramaic "Rabboni" which Jesus is called on two occasions (Mark 10:51, John 20:16). Interestingly "didaskalos", the Greek translation of the term, appears as an office in its own right in the Antiochene and Pauline Churches (Ephesians 4:11, Acts 13:1) but whether or not it was an official Church order or simply a charism is subject to debate. I do believe Jesus is the first known person/the first person in written literature to be called Rabbi signifying his respected role as an independent Jewish teacher, but again he wouldn't have been the type of Rabbi you see in like modern Orthodox Judaism or what not as that is a latter establishment.
>>18360784The meaning being he's a Jewish teacher of Jewish law.
>>18360802So what synagogue mean?> Jesus regularly attended synagogue services on the Sabbath, fulfilling His custom of worship and teaching (Luke 4:16). He taught in synagogues throughout Galilee and Judea, often delivering messages that amazed listeners with His authority (Mark 1:21–22)
>>18360901>a preacher went to proselytize where people gatheredSTOP THE PRESS
>>18360879It's Jesus talking down to a goy
>>18360903It's insane how despite all this evidence you (and other Christians on this site) will still insist that Christianity isn't a sect of Judaism
>>18360780bigoted people are not religious by definition. they can claim to be religious, but you know pretty damn well they are atheists. by their words and actions you spot them easily
