Why did these 4 jobs go from super important and prestigious to meh jobs? Like 6 of the first 15 presidents were secretary of state and there hasn't been once since the civil war. The only other famous secretary of treasury after hamilton was that dred scott scotus chief justice.
Knox, Monroe, Calhoun, Jefferson Davis, Grant, Sherman and Taft were all secretaries of war and now it's randos

Washington did not really govern as a president. He was more like a very limited monarch who had ministers govern in his name. I think many founders actually expected the presidency to be like this rather than what we have now.

Way to miss the point.

To be completely fair, the first American government was the closest to a Mount Olympus humanity will ever have
Plus Madison as Washington's mouth of Sauron

You can quit larping, the President had more power than the British king from day 1.

Henry Knox was so fat he had CPAP mask rosacea 2 centuries before it was invented lol

the president cannot unilaterally dissolve the government like the bong king can. bongs are still chattel slaves with no rights and are the property of the king

For all intents and purposes the President is the dictator of the executive branch. The UK monarch hasn't had such power in centuries.
>>
>>18378923
the president is not a dictator, retard. the president is elected
the king is a dictator since bongs are subjects and not people
>>
>>18378923
>the President is the dictator of the executive branch
what a silly thing to say, yes he is the chief executive officer, but he cannot appoint his own ministers at will, his actions are circumscribed by the laws of congress and the constitution, and his actions can be declared unlawful by the judiciary. No dictator is subject to those terms, so it is meaningless to say that because he has executive authority he is one.
>>
>>18379318
>dictator is when not elected
I know you've been doused in "muh democracy" propaganda since birth, but that's not the case. A dictator can very much be elected.
>>
>>18375943
It's hard to elect people who've actually done things on a national stage with a modern electorate. All it takes is one media cycle of "THIS TRAITOR DID THE BAD THING WHEN THEY WERE SECRETARY OF STATE THEY HATE AMERICA" and bam all of a sudden you're down by 7 points in the polls for basically no reason.
