We would never have gone against them and they had no intention of allowing the balance of power in Europe to be dominated by Germany. Had we entered on Germanys side the USSR would've been defeated of course. Japan wouldve taken all of Asia. UK as well unless we convinced them to join the Germans as well.

FDR joked that "maybe 49,000 would be enough". Churchill was outraged, denounced the proposal and stormed out. Stalin later insisted it was a joke but Chuchill didn't really believe that and was appalled that FDR seemed to be humoring him.
