>>18388577Allah willed it.
>>18388584Unironically the only explanation for early Muslim expansion
>>18388577Map is wrong empire. Sassanid Persia and Eastern Rome have had centuries and decades of peace and war occurring between the two, both using Arab mercs as auxiliary forces against one another. Of course one of these times the two are fighting and both get btfo by a newly formed warband of fervent believers in a new Arabian movement. Turns out light weight camel warriors can mop the floor of Persian cataphracts.
>>18388584Then why didn’t he will the Ottomans being on the winning side of WW1?
>>18388645The Ottomans has become corrupt and impious. That's why Allah blessed Ataturk instead.
>>18388577Orthodox Zoroastrianism caused disgraced nobles to influence nearby tribes to help them overthrow the Neo-Parthian Empire. Salman the Persian went to Mohammad, made up a bunch of shit, and the rest is history.
>>18388577Persia was a shithole, literally peaked early with the acheademinids, and every subsequent state was trying (and failed) to achieve the glory again, usually accompanied by internal unrest and civil wars. There was like maybe less than 10 good rulers pre islam.
>>18388577The original nordic stock that created the Sasanids was entirely replaced by swartier native blood. So the whole civilization got corrupted and collapsed
>>18388577Wrong time period.
>>18388649>impiousNah they behaved exactly like any other Muslim state.
By the sword and only by the sword. Remember that even after the Islamic conquests, Zoroastrianism was still widespread based on how high the jizya tax rates were in conquered Iranian territories compared to other regions of the caliphate. Zoroastrianism didn’t become a minority until at least 200 years after the Arab conquest of Iran and during that time period, there were plenty of anti-Islam revolts led by Zoroastrians; just look up the Khurramites. Even the Ziyarid dynasty was founded by a Zoroastrian named Mardavij who was actually pretty close to expelling Islam from the country before he was assassinated by a Turkish slave.
>>18389193Here's my question... was the early spread of islam aided by drugs? It became a very ascetic religion, but then there's also groups like the Hashashins, and we know drug use was prolific in the ancient world in general. And I don't mean this as a slight. It would just make more sense if Islam followed the same path that all of the others did.
