Accepting foreign iconography as part of a nation’s religious ethos only erodes native traditions and builds collective sympathy and/or veneration for people more representative of the iconography. It’s really silly for Europeans to consider date palms as ‘holy’ trees, or the way certain people in Middle East are dressed and style themselves as being holy. Even the idea of a holy land being located in the Middle East is really bad.
>>18389549then again, why does an English university have a bunch of statues of Greek men on it?
>>18389624Greeks are actually European.
>>18389549Yeah its gay and jewish.
>>18389655>Greeks are actually EuropeanVarg doesn't think they are, anyway.
>>18389664I mean it’s literally the reason why evangelists and others in the west are so pro Jewish and want to enmesh themselves in Mena affairs. There is the financial reasonings, but overall it’s because their religious foundations are based in the region. They feel as if they should guard the Jews and their interests because of an internalized belief that they are sacred.
>>18389709ha ha you know nothing of evangelicals. they all just believe Israel has to exist so Jesus can return to Earth after which all Jews are cast into Hell for denying him.
>>18389549Poor OP is in denial of how much of Indian culture was influenced by Islam and Victorian British culture.
>>18389712That’s on the surface sure. But they go above and beyond for Jews. They almost worship them. You can believe in the existence of the state of Israel without having to worship or idolize Jews.
>>18389699Nobody cares about Varg. He’s not the pope of paganism.
>>18389624England didn't exist in Plato's time anyway, it was just some people in loincloths in a forest with blue face paint.
>>18389624in any event, Greece has a lot more in common with the Levant in race, history, culture, etc than it ever did England
>>18389655This isn't a coherent argument. If you actually believed what you wrote in the OP (you don't) then this would merely make the importation of Greek culture into England less bad, but certainly not good.
>>18389726The actual golden times of Greece and Rome were in the centuries we don't know much about. Mycenaeans were the real Greeks, and they obviously shared a lot of cultural and genetic heritage with northern Europeans. They did start to become more Asiatic in the Classical period, but that doesn't mean contact with Asia defines Greece. And as for what a Greek at the time would've thought, I imagine he'd cave your head in for suggesting any kind of kinship with northern or eastern barbarians. He would not have cared for you using his race to push your personal agenda.
