I just finished reading the Iliad and I couldn't agree more with the early christians' view that the greek gods are demons.They are violent, capricious, warlike, narcissistic, manipulative, envious, lustful, vengeful, proud, immoral, and cruel.Thank goodness Jesus put those idiots in their place.

There's even a scene that makes this super explicit, where Aphrodite gets injured by Tydides and runs crying to papa like a little bitch.That being said, Zeus himself doesn't display all the petty qualities that you're describing. He has a plan of his own, but he avoids upsetting the balance of fate for his personal gain. He's clearly set apart both in terms of his power and morals.
