Christianity isn't about being a "nice person", it's about believing in God.
>>
Christians are by default nice people

TRUE, BUT INCOMPLETE; CHRISTIANITY IS ABOUT SALVATION BY FOLLOWING CHRIST; BELIEF IN GOD IS PREREQUISITE, BUT CHRISTIANITY IS NOT REDUCIBLE TO THAT.
>>

All three Abrahamic religions assert that belief in God is more important than morals tho.

Christianity says no one enters heaven but through Christ.
Islam says all good deeds are nullified and ignored unless you believe in God.
And Judaism says only ethnic jews can be saved simply because their race is superior.
Lol.

ISLAMISM IS A HERETICAL SECT; JUDAISM IS A PAGANICAL CULT.

THERE IS ONLY ONE RELIGION: CHRISTIANITY; THERE IS ONLY ONE CHRISTIANITY: CATHOLICISM.
>>
>>18401795
Yes and no, as in there's Christians who believe both.

Retards try to reduce the entirety of a religion into one sentence.
Even when Jesus said that the whole point is to love God AND love your neighbor, you still have to pick it apart even more?
>>
If you honestly believe in god, who tells you (roundabout) to be a nice person, is there really any other option than being one? And if you're not, is it even possible that you actually believe in him?
>>
>>18401795
That's protestantism. Christianity requires good works.
>>
>>18401795
Why don't they just make a religion board already?
>>
>>18401795
christianity is about being nice to god. not yourself.
>>
I will tell you one time the truth of this: to perform selfless acts, to have God in mind and heart, and to have family in mind and heart.
>>
at its most basic level its about living according to the teachings of christ as written in the bible.
>>
>>18402038
HA!. can you imagine anyone who would want to moderate it?
>>
>>18401795
Satan also believes in god and that Jesus died for our sins.

You should also try to follow his teachings to the best of your ability and ask for forgiveness when you inevitably fail.
>>
>>18401795
Why not both? Jesus said the two most important commandments are love God and love your neighbor.

False.

Christianity is about representing God with love and righteousness as a member of the body of Christ, the one true living God.

I hope that one day you see the light, and learn to love you God, recognizing the light of God in Christ as the one true living God which can save the earth from the hell.

>Why not both?
Well, according to protestantism faith alone suffices and doing good deeds may even come off as prideful and pharisaic so you better just stick to faith and only faith.

Yes. Human morals, or at least those of society, are always changing. Some ancient societies considered child sacrifice or cannibalism to be a good deed. We don't believe that to be true at all, but they may have genuinely believed it to be so. Modern secular society is mostly subjective morality based so they now denounce much of what would have been standard or good in a Christian-value driven society.

You cannot earn salvation, it is given to you. But you must believe in Christ and His teachings (faith) and live out a Christian life doing provably Christian acts (works). In Christianity there is such a thing as objective morality and abiding by what, as Christians, we believe to be good, is part of living out a Christian life.
