at its most basic level its about living according to the teachings of christ as written in the bible.

But you must believe in Christ and His teachings (faith) and live out a Christian life doing provably Christian acts (works). In Christianity there is such a thing as objective morality and abiding by what, as Christians, we believe to be good, is part of living out a Christian life.
