The Germans official casus belli was to protect the overall German minorities in all of Poland from supposed genocide, which in itself was just a front in order to justify war to annex everything that had been German/Prussian since 1795 and then turn the rest of the polish state into a subservient puppet similar to Slovakia, or at worst directly controlled protectorate like Czechia. Probably the latter because the first action of the occupation was to kill off the Polish elite so the remaining polish population would be nothing but serfs.
