It's a pretty dumb question.America was for all intent and purposes the real winner of ww2. They shattered the Axis new-imperalism in its cradle and came so strongly on top that they were able to surpress the already established Anglo-French imperial hegemony as well. USA went from an isolationist limited spehere of influence to a near-global geopolitical dominance, especially in Europe which was the most important continent traditionally.Their only contest was the USSR but people dont seem to realise the sheer American dominance and how completely one-sided the cold war actually was. The Soviets had been absolutely decimated during ww2, losing over 20-25 million of its citizens and had its most valued territory scorched, while inhereting the most ravaged parts of Europe that had to be paid to be rebuilt. The Soviets could only maintain an illusion of power for about 40 years until it all came crashing down because the illusion could no longer be sustained.All things aside, America also could claim the moral highground from the conflict and could maximize its participation by almost mythologizing ww2 into its national identity, it became the war America won, the war of good and evil, of liberation, legitimizing US military presence around the world and the US state as a hegemony to its citizens.
