A big song and dance was made about DNA evidence proving it was Kosminski a few years ago, but it falls to pieces the second you look into it for more than 5 seconds and don't have a Official Jack the Ripper Whitechapel Ye Olde Tour to sell.The DNA came from a shawl that was supposedly found at the scene of Catherine Eddowes murder (the 2nd woman killed in the "Double Event"), which had been bought by a "ripperologist" at an auction and then kept in his car for years before being sent for DNA testing, which gave a result of a match with Kosminski's mitochondrial DNA. Which means it matched him, but also matched every single person related to him, across all of Eastern Europe.And then it gets even weaker. There's no evidence it was even Eddowes shawl. When the police arrived they closed off the scene and recording absolutely everything she was wearing and carrying, including noting down the waistcoat she was wearing was actually a man's and she had a matchbox but with no matches in it. A shawl like the one used to test the DNA is not mentioned.Then you look at the providence of the shawl from the auction house and they say it originally came from a cop who was on the scene and took the shawl as a gift for his wife. Except the cop in question worked in a different part of London. So they only way that could work is that he heard there had been another Ripper murder, raced to the scene and got there faster than any other copper, saw a woman lying in the gutter with her throat slashed from ear to ear and her entrails ripped out, saw a shawl she was wearing (that would be covered in blood, shit and cum), thought it would be a wonderful present for his wife, grabbed it and ran off, all before anyone else arrived. Then his wife never washed the shawl and nor did anyone else in the next 120+ years. None of it makes sense, so all you are left with is a Victorian shawl that was touched by someone vaguely related to Kosminski at some point.
