How can Globalism truly be achieved?

Was playing a Sid Meier's Civilization type 4x strategy game recently with a sci-fi theme where all the different factions are different space-faring civilizations. You know how in those games each faction will be tilted towards a particular win condition, like conquest victory, culture victory, science victory, etc. Thought it was funny because the human faction, "the united nations of earth" was the diplomacy focused civilization and the lore explanation for this was that every alien civilization had formed a hegemonic world government through increasingly destructive world wars that destroyed the individual nations and tribes, and then that hegemon created a single civilizational identity. But humanity was unique in being the only race that discovered atomic weapons before this could happen, which resulted in human nations having to remain in a state of living in various armed encampments of hundreds of millions of people, and therefore developed much more sophisticated methods of peaceful conflict resolution than anyone else.Anyway, as to your question, do you mean economic, political, or cultural globalism? Assuming you mean political globalism, it is difficult to imagine outside of some cataclysmic event that either allows compulsion under a hegemon, or causes such catastrophic necessity that people identify more with their species than their nation, neither of which seems likely in any realistic scenario. The closest humanity ever came to a one world government was the Paris Peace Conference, even that was not very close.Look at something like the Covid-19 pandemic, the revealed inadequacy of individual national responses to an acute global crisis did not move the needle whatsoever in the direction of political globalism. Besides, if there is a true systems collapse it seems like that would lead fragmentation not consolidation.Absent an alien invasion crushing the nations of Earth and forming a new entity in its place, I don't see it happening.
