I believe the Orthodox Church is the closest to what the earlier Church Fathers were like in theology and behavior. However, there's no Orthodox presence in my country and the only othodox church near me is for inmigrants and not in my language. Therefore, I decided to remain Roman Catholic.
>you should at least try attending Latin Mass
No, I'm not a tradLARPer, my local parish is Novus Ordo and I shall remain loyal to it. Besides, nothing stops me from studying the Church and Desert Fathers, practice hesychia and lead a modern day ascetic life as a layman
The point is to be close to God and receive Sacraments and help the needy, my inclination for hesychia and theosis can be meet in private. I think this is how I want to lead my life.

I wanted to make a funny response but I realised it would probably break the second commandment so I refrained from doing so. Hopefully someone else can respond.

God bless you.

What country? Is it just difficult or outright dangerous?

If you're anything like me and most American Orthodox, there's a parish somewhere it's just a long drive or a small attendance count. Maybe there's no clergy and they only do Typika.

But, struggle is what Christ expects us. Even if you attend one Typika or Vespers a week with no catechism, that is far better than a false church. Will pray for you.

If you're in the US this is a listing of all Orthodox churches.

Please don't schism anon. It's not wise to do at all. If you were a Protestant that would be one thing. But please remain with the Church. The Orthodox are great don't get me wrong but their theology has issues.

I was born Catholic and I will die Catholic. I just think the Orthodox might be closer to what Christianity was in the begining but there's no point in converting to a religion alien to my country and culture. Besides, like I said in the OP, the biggests points of interests for me (hesychia, theosis...) are 100% compatible with the Catholic Church, where I'm at home.
Accepting Papal infalliability isn't a big deal to ne, neither is Filioque. Like a Desert Father would say: "I don't know".

But Catholic practices are antique as well, anon. As the Fathers did, we also do. There has been development, and continues to be, but this is also true for Eastern Orthodox. I think a big part of where Eastern Orthodox theology has real pitfalls is they don't really have an adequate Theory of Doctrine, at least not one that has strong explanatory value. You really seem to be giving undue weight to Greek customs over Latin customs imo. Like there's really no good reason to think hesychasm is apostolic in origin. I don't think it's heretical but I think some healthy skepticism is due for it. Nonetheless, hesychasm really only occupies a small part of Orthodox practice, anon. Just like us, their spiritual life belongs to the sacraments, not the breathing techniques of the hesychasts, who only make up a small proportion of our Eastern Orthodox brethren. Don't be fooled by e-Orthodox larpers and vibes. They're not really an accurate depiction of Orthodoxy as much as e-Rad Trads are not an accurate depiction of Catholicism. It's actually rather extremist.
