I used to think the ultimate cause of racism was skin color, but ultimately it seems to come down to buildings. Buildings are omnipresent in racist rhetoric. Basically the bigger buildings you have the gooder you are

Buildings combine scientific advancement, culture, reliability and how organized a society is. The Egyptians could build the pyramids but they could not build arched vaults as you see in European Cathedrals, the first buildings to exceed the pyramids in height after 3000 years. It was a sure sign something big was happening in Europe, and it was, the "great divergence" then the industrial revolution and the modern world.

In the modern age though it is less reliable, Burj Khalifa was not designed by Omar, Ahmed & Muhammad, but by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the most mid anglo names you could possibly imagine.
