I'm looking for some inspiration. I'm trying to design cultures and styles for a fantasy game. I don't want to just make it the same generic medieval style we see everywhere. One thing I thought of early on is having the style and technology be similar to colonial to pre/mid-industrial times.

What are some of your favorite historical architectural styles? any time period, any continent, culture, or wealth class. And if you've got some research material that I can use to learn about the grander history and development of these styles, that would be great too.
I'm prepared to do a lot of reading and sketching.

It's always funny seeing underage autists thinking they have even the slightest amount of creativity and imagination to make up entire societies for a book. How about you start writing short, focused stories instead of some underdeveloped slop?

That's a lot of assumptions. I feel like responding to that drivel would only serve to legitimize it more than it deserves.
