The Soviets had already taken apocalyptic loses during Barbarossa, most of their lands in the West were destroyed due to the fighting, they were on the cusp of famine and were pressed to rapidly demobilize (which did happen between 1946-1947) and were reliant on Allied Lend-Lease to fight Germany. They might have the advantage initially due to the surprise factor and their numbers, but they would've quickly been beaten back, by the West, by guerrillas (Like the Polish Home Army, Forest Brothers, OUN) and by imminent famine.
