Hungary wouldn’t have been able to do anything if it wasn’t for German backing. The treaties were harsh enough on the Hungarians but not on the Germans basically. Hungary could stand to have gained some lands with their people on their immediate borders and they’d still be too weak to actually do anything against Czechoslovakia, Romania, and Yugoslavia.
