>A random japanese cult has more followers and temples than every single "paganism" movement

Why are atheist Western Whites (pagans are atheists with mjolnir necklaces) so utterly dogshit at forming organisations? Is it autism? Like is it genuinely autism? HOW ARE PAGAN KEKS SO IMPOTENT? JUST MAKE AN IRL GUILD BANK AND FUND A TEMPLE TOGETHER? IS THAT TOO SOCIAL FOR YOU, YOU FUCKING SPERGS? BLAST

Because most neopagans are just casual larpers while cultists are all completely serious and dedicated believers

It’s hard to scale a polycule to more than 10 people

Will there ever be a Dawn of War video game where Chaos Land Raiders can be used alongside Daemons while Orks own both Squiggoths and Stompas?

The term “pagan” was coined by Christian writers to refer to anyone who didn’t follow Christianity or Judaism and by this original definition, nearly every religion that has ever existed is “pagan.” It comes from the Latin word paganus meaning “rural” or “country-dweller” because even after Christianity was declared the state religion of the Roman Empire, rural areas still remained majority “pagan” well into the early Middle Ages. The modern equivalent of this would be calling rural conservative Christians in America “rednecks.”

Neopagans are still primarily made up of atheist larpers.

because there's no power and it's simply impossible. people would have already done this if it's as easy and straightforward as the way you said it.

firstly, they would have to agree on one thing, which is impossible seeing that there are academic divides(ex. hard polytheist vs soft polytheist, reconstructionist vs eclectic, etc.)

secondly, western paganism is voluntary, there's no necessary call to action or grouping, it's you finding your way. this is similar to why muslims can't seem to eradicate hinduism, no leaders and after killing supposed heads, it still lives because it's a lived culture and not just dogma.

and there's also the naysayers, a unified pagan group would face backlash from everyone because it's an unfamiliar religion unlike Christianity. wiccans can't even have their 8 seasons recognized by companies as legit reasons for work leaves, what makes you think an entire country would allow paganism to do it's stuff freely?

instead of complaining, why not ask the pagans in any pagan community and figure out ways to help them make an org?

MOST pagans are casual larpers and there's virtually no central organization of almost any of it. Modern pagans have a very "pick and choose" attitude towards faith that's not really conducive of any organized movement.

And most types of the STRONG pagan faiths from 1-2 millennia ago, were so intertwined with the time and culture they belonged to, that it makes no sense removed from it. Like the Norse faith.

All sacrifices to Odin must be hung in the hanging tree outside of their temple, INCLUDING HORSES (Odin's favored sacrifice outside of humans). You remove battle sacrifices and hanged offerings to Odin, and what's left makes very little sense on it's own.

Modern Norse pagans make a lot of fertility offerings to Freya and Freyr, because the more central gods of the original Norse faith; Odin, Thor, or Loki; would all be considered to be very evil by any type of modern cultural value structures.

At best they're practicing a highly castrated weak and uncompelling version of what was originally done. Or some entirely new thing made up by faggot hippies like Wicca.

>muh animal sacrifices
Animal sacrifice by the 4th century was already unpopular to pagans in the Mediterranean and had declined massively even in the century before. They were considered too “messy” and most people had begun to prefer solely bloodless sacrifices that didn’t involve killing animals.

Also, most sacrifices don’t take the form of animals anyways. There are different degrees and levels of offerings and sacrifices. Incense and votive offerings were commonly used throughout pagan Europe. Germanic archeological sites are usually littered with golden figurines buried as sacrifices. Germans made sacrifices of everything really including swords and flags looted from enemies. The Romans often made offerings of oatcakes with butter along with frankincense to Jupiter.

Because you're allowed to practice whatever religion you want in Japan without being subjected to online and real-life harassment by mentally ill monotheists.

Also, the majority of European ethnic religion was just small groups of people worshipping the gods independent of every other small group.

>animal sacrifices
You understand that the "sacrifice" meant ritually killing, preparing, and cooking the animal and eating it right? Why are you upset about a glorified barbecue?
