Why is there such a big divide between Western and Eastern Europe when it comes to achievements?
>>18416091Black plague didn't affect the east the same way as the west.East had a small population in general, Muslims owned most of the balkans and they were basically inferior socially to most states in Europe, much less the west.I would say the way systems responded to stress was different and produced different results. The west became more liberal and pasants could improve their lot, the east became the opposite for example.

It's all downhill from the mongol invasions of russia. Tyranny, backwardness, communism. Czechia, poland and the baltics have western level IQ, they're still hampered by the effects of russian rule and communism but rapidly reaching western levels. Russia, Belarus and Ukraine probably did before several rounds of mass deaths and brain drain, but russia is now permantenly fucked and what will happen to ukraine remains to be seen. Also all of europe is dying out anyway. Some will be replaced by muslims and africans, some will just became a big emptiness.
>>18416343Yeah, but petty nationalism will continue in spite of this, particularly from the western larpers who view easterners as different species after years of using them for propaganda as what kikes and non-whites can do.

Ironically, the Catholic Church. There was no sense of unity between those countries in the Middle Age. The Orthodox are a lot more divided . The Orthodox Church is much more backward and careless also. Also, no literacy . No important cities. No good schools, no universities. You were either a peasant poor af , no property , no education or a noble ( very few in numbers ). Not much middle ground. Combine that with constant Turkish invasions and no ocean opening for trade and conquest and you get this. All those countries would still be middle east level if not for their proximity to Western Europe
>>18416091Race.
>>18416323>East had a small population in general,Doesn't really mean anything>>18416343>Tyranny, backwardness, communism. You are a moron>>18418087>Also, no literacy .It was generally very low in the pre industrial period>No important citiesObjectively false
>>18416091>whysee also - COMMUNISM
>>18418920>Doesn't really mean anythingIt does considering the most influential people in the world come from countries with massive populations.Ancient Greece was like 10% of the world population back then and Egypt over 20% if my memory is right.
>>18418920>You are a moronUhuh.Tyranny, backwardness and communism described the malady of russia and russian-controlled areas perfectly.
>Eastern EuropeBreadbasket economy for western europe>Western EuropeCapitalized economy that enables more leisure time and ensures sufficient instruments are produced and widely circulated, with numerous urban centers in close proximity that facilitate the rapid spread of ideas and institutions
>>18419523>Ancient Greece was like 10% of the world populationBased on fucking what?>>18419534>Tyranny, backwardness and communism described the malady of russia and russian-controlled areas perfectlyExcept for the fact that the USSR developed many important technologies, Cuba despite the criminal embargo managed to become a global leader in biotechnology and then you have China which is increasingly closing the gap with the US
>>18419605My bad, greeks were 4 to 6% of the world population at best and Egypt was 10% at best.Still huge.
>>18419619Again based on what? We don't have a global census data and estimates of such an ancient period aren't very reliable. What's the source you used?
