Why were Comanches better horse riders than the White Man, despite horses not even being native to North America? Europeans had millenia more to perfect their riding, yet they were much more inferior at it than the Comanches.
>>
they adopted the horse at a time when they were a nomadic tribe who had only domesticated dogs up to that point, and once they adopted it they spent their entire lives in the saddle when they saw the benefits. no shit they were gonna be better horsemen.

Horse riding isn't some genetic skill, tostiloco

Because Comanche lived on horseback following the great herds of buffalo, similar in many ways to steppe peoples, Comanche boys were taught to ride from an early age with and without a saddle. The average white person on the other hand was a farmer who maybe knew how to lead a horse to pull a plow or a cart but probably had little experience on horseback, only a few specialists like cowboys and cavalrymen had any real training, and rarely from infancy which apparently gives someone an edge.

I find it interesting how horse were essentially extinct before the colonists reintroduce them to the environment in the 16th century and the natives rapidly adopted them into their lifestyle following the collapse (due European diseases long before they physically meet a "White" person) of their settler civilization.

This
Horse riding requires tons of early training to become very proficient at. We can see this in europe, where even well into the modern age, cavalry was the domain of the petty nobility who had the ressources to do that. And regional differences in cavalry culture were so great that hungarian and polish cavalry were quite sought after. I don't suppose anyone in america outside of western ranchers had similar levels of proficiency.

Anything does. I play small games of football (soccer) with, frankly, other over-the-hill and out-of-shape guys. But you can still tell who played seriously when they were a kid. The little touches, movements, even how they shape their body to hold you off. Never leaves you.

the natives that adopted lived far from good agricultural land

They weren't.

I don't believe this is true.

Are you people legitimately fucking retarded
Comanches rode well because they learned to ride at a young age, European settlers in North America did not learn how to ride horses young or have anywhere near as much practice.
Holy fucking Shit you autistic subhumans probably think a Norwegian guy raised in Singapore will be good at skiing because "muh racial traits" and think it's like an Elder Scrolls video game skill or some shit like that

This is legitimately the worst blackpill for me. My child self was such a low confidence recluse loser, now that I'm an adult and actually excited to try out new sports and have the money to do so, I still have to contend with the fact that I'll forever be behind even the most "average" kids. It's especially brutal when Surfing and seeing these 11 year old groms catching the gnarliest waves with perfect balance and technique.
If I have kids, imma forcefeed them every sport I can think of.

Yeah, they were basically the last lords of the steppe. All horse nomads are better riders than settled people because they live on the horse
>>
>>18417879
Your error is in trying to be better than someone else, rather than trying to be good enough for yourself.

THE COMANCHE WERE NOVOHISPANIC, AND, LATER, MEXICAN, AND MADE THEIR LIVING AS RANCHERS; THE ANGLOS THAT COLONIZED WHAT IS NOW UNITEDSTATES, AND WHOSE DESCENDANTS INVADED NORTHWESTERN MEXICO IN THE XIX CENTURY, WERE POOR, DUMB, IGNORANT PEASANTS WHO HAD NEVER EVEN TOUCHED A HORSE IN THEIR LIVES.
>>
The Comanche were manlets, small guys are better at riding.

>the natives that adopted lived far from good agricultural land
yes, that's why they used the horses for raids

>People who didn't speak Spanish were "Novo Hispanic"
uh yeah and I guess the Japanese are actually Slavs while we're at it, why the fuck not
>>
They weren’t good riders. They lacked metalurgery so they never had horseshoes. They’d ride a horse hard the moment they could until they died in a very short time. Then they’d kill the horse, eat it, and replace if with another horse.

>The nomads became less egalitarian as the most successful men accumulated larger herds of horses and a greater number of wives. They needed more women to tan the extra hides and to dry the meat of their increased kill. A young man also sought horses to provide the dowry to procure a wife from her father. Horses and women became interdependent markers of high status. A prosperous warrior displayed twenty or more horses, while a poor man possessed one or two (or none)—a discrepancy in private property unprecedented in their societies. Individual property in horses also fluctuated wildly over time, as a severe winter or an enemy raid could suddenly deplete one man’s horse herd.
>The horse-centered way of life proved a mixed blessing for women. Horses liberated them from bearing the heaviest burdens, and better hunting meant more food for everyone. But women also reaped relatively lower status as their tribes elevated male hunters and warriors. In addition, women had to work harder, feeding and tending horses, scraping and tanning more hides, drying more buffalo meat, and making larger stocks of pemmican. Among the horticultural peoples there was additional resentment over the damage that hungry roaming horses wreaked on the village crops that the women cultivated. A nineteenth-century missionary among the Pawnee observed, “There are more broils, jealousy, and family quarrels caused by horses than all other troubles combined. The horse frequently causes separation between man and wife, sometimes for life.” Finally, women became the targets of raids meant to enhance the wealth and status of the enemy men who captured them.

Horsebros making native roasties SEETHE

It's fascinating how horses completely revolutionized their society.
