I have one of these, which is the current standard Bible for use in Catholic churches in the UK.
Only funnily enough, on both the blurb and in the introduction it repeatedly refers to the deuterocanonical texts as "the apocrypha", which obviously Catholics consider a false / inaccurate label for those texts. Kind of a funny little faux pas.

Is CSB the simplest you can go before the message is completely lost? Got a friend that doesn't read much but wants to start reading the Bible.

That's mainly because the Orthodox Study Bible is the only real full Orthodox Bible in the English speaking market right now. Nobody has combined a good Septuagint translation with the Byzantine New Testament yet.

Not a Christian but out of sheer curiosity, which Bible translations would you say has the most progressive/liberal bias?
And by contrast which Bible has the most conservative bias?
