Isn't it a little weird to have a bunch of crusader tattoos (including Deus Vult) as Sec Def while also being a member of a small sect considered to be schismatic and heretical by the traditional Church (including all involved in the Crusades)?
>>

It's also a little weird for a devout Christian to rape/sleep around with other women (which caused his first two wives to divorce him)
>>
>>18418595
People like him tend to view crusaders as a pan-european symbol of justified conflict against islam rather than a catholic or even necessarily religious thing

But that's completely anachronistic and honestly ridiculous.

>>18418616
Oh right, I forgot his defense was openly "I was getting black out drunk as a middle aged man and commiting adultery, but not raping." Wonderful stuff. I guess our Commander in Chief has had a similar defense, but he is treated as a legit prophet.

Meanwhile, it's the Pope and Patriarchs who are heretical...
>>
>>18418629
True. That’s why his best friends in Syria are the HTS Muslims, the ones propped up by his own US military. Guys like Hegseth are power seekers and nothing more. No real ideology.

Isnt it a little weird that he doesnt merce the jew cock loving pedo in chief with these symbols?
>>

>merce
what was that supposed to translate to, ESL
>>
>>18418595
yes, granted there is a lot about pete that is retarded, but since that will have to wait for around 25 years since its to modern for this board, not like the jannies will really care

Secretary of War. Don't deadname him.

I assume ‘merc’ as in mercenary. Like he’s asking why he doesn’t snipe the President as a Jew loving heathen

Vance too. It's fun to see even conservative bishops point out his abuses. Or that "confederate Orthodox" guy who was excommunicated by Antioch after about two weeks.

It's a terrible shame that these guys are associating themselves with the likes of Alasdair MacIntyre, D.C. Schindler, etc. because they have crucial things to say to our current moment and their message is being corrupted into sheer grifterism.
>>
>>18418684
Scofield Bible, etc. made a lot of Evangelicals more Zionist than leftist or Orthodox Jews. Which is ironic because the Church Fathers are almost unanimous on seeing the Church as the new Israel, and the Jews as rejecting membership.

Christianity isn't stringent like Islam. Christians don't really care about the rules of their religion. Christianity is more like a vibe.

Trump by himself isn’t so bad but the people he surrounds himself with make him vary wildly within his own term. Elon Musk and pro- Russia/ “spirit of Anchorage” era Trump admin of 2025 was one of the golden eras of the USA in the 21st century. In 2026 it feels like overnight he invited all the Zionists and “Third temple” inbreds into the Oval Office and gave them free rein.

Compare the US under Musk’s DOGE cuts and the groundbreaking Anchorage meeting with what it’s turning into today.

I've always seen it as Saint Francis being the greatest hero of the Crusades because he walked into Saracen lines, welcoming martyrdom, in order to *preach* the Gospel and commend peace...

At some point your post looked like a blur to read because I didn't see you leave in that catholics never did anything. When I see you post catholics never did anything to make sure you're serious, I'll remember what you posted. Implying that catholics ever did anything productive for Christianity that isn't fraudslop failed states leeching off the real Christian contributions is never gonna be serious.

Christianity is just Judaism but committing genocide requires effort so they just give money to them instead. It's really gay.

schism is not the right word for protestants, who are still considered to be Christians

the orthodox, Copts, etc are in schism because they have apostolic succession
they were once both in perfect communion with Rome, and belong to the same apostolic and visible Church that Jesus founded

the protestant churches (Lutheran and reformed) were created in the modern era and do not have apostolic succession
hence, they are not truly in schism because they never actually belonged to the apostolic line of the Church Jesus instituted and entrusted to the apostles and subsequently fell out of communion and/or attempted to install bishops to oversee diocese which already had a bishop (this is how schism is formally defined, two bishops ordained by rival camps each claiming a particular jurisdiction) but are counter-churches created after the fact

one strange area in which there is some contention concerns the church or England, who are said to have lost apostolic succession (despite retaining bishops at least nominally) due to a critical lapse in form and desacralization of the rite of ordination due to calvinist corruption, which is not said to have happened in the east
this is my understanding of the facts, and doesn't necessarily represent any official teaching

I don’t get why people say this was a loss when the US toppled Saddam and the new government the US installed is still in charge.
>>

Right, Catholic teaching is that Roman Catholics can take Orthodox communion in rare cases when they cannot access their own priests. Some Orthodox churches have a similar policy, although generally for more emergency situations. Obviously some are in full communion with Rome so those are fine. They've also done joint communion at various points.

That's a difference from the many Protestant denominations that are considered to be heresies by both. There is a larger theological separation there.
