The Ottoman Empire was way too tolerant. It also became a dynasty run by women. That was the beginning of the end.The Ottoman dynasty should have been toppled in the 1700s, and definitely in the 1800s, and replaced with a new system that could actually defend its own Muslim citizens instead of leaving them to be slaughtered or conquered left and right.
