If Napoleon is the preeminent world-historical figure of the 19th century, then Mao is surely the one of the 20th, except even more successful

He singlehandedly set the stage for the blossoming of the superpower of the 21st century

Before >muh Deng

Turning something from nothing to something, is infinitely more difficult than something to something greater
>>
Mao was 70% good, 30% bad.

you gotta stop being misled by ideology, I think this is something that material analysis gets right, stop paying attention to words man, they literally don't matter, ideology doesn't matter bro like just look at action and results and material conditions, not words, that are full of sophistry, stop being an INTELLECTUAL bro

just look at what the man accomplished, who can deny his greatness, he was as brilliant politically and strategically as napoleon was tactically, he was greater than every other statesman of the 20th century in foresight, defeated his domestic and external enemies against overwhelming odds, played the two superpowers off each other perfectly, a man of modest background and humble origins, a self made man, a self taught man, an autodidact, a brilliant poet and writer, the whole world knows his writings and aphorisms, developed principles of guerrilla warfare used today, principles that are used to bring down the USA as we speak

the long march man, the stuff of romantic legends, 12,500 kilometers over more than a year, on foot, across the expanse of the chinese mainland, 18 mountain ranges, and 24 major rivers, from the labyrint landforms of the south, to all 4000m of the Jiajin in Sichuan, to the freezing loess plateau where the ancestors of the chinese people first planted millet, 100k whittled down to a core of 8000, weakened but not broken, the seed of a fanatically loyal old guard, forming the revolutionary elite for the new state

(a surviving officer, Peng Dehuai, would go on to mog UN forces as PVA Commander in-theatre)

Mao famously said by the 15th Five-Year-Plan, China would surpass the US, how prescient that was; the 15th five year plan starts in big 2026

Well he was wrong then because China still isn't actually considered a superpower and their economy has been stagnating for the past half-decade

china imports more food because it is able to pay for it with exported manufactured goods

not the own you think it is

eating good from rest of world
>>

That's fine. They also have to import much of their material for manufacturing as well however. China has come a long way for sure, but you can't just hold service economies you don't like to double standards to service economies that you do like buddy.
