I feel pity for armenians. They may be not be the sharpest tool in the shed (fail diplomacy spectacularly), but hundreds of years of roach infestation just made you lose your nerve.

the Armenians at least initially were absolutely in the right. despite the Azerbaijani SSR leadership deliberately trying to dilute the Armenian through attempts at repression, assimilation, and migration of Azerbaijanis Nagorno Karabakh was still 3/4 Armenian at the start of the conflict, had the Azerbaijanis and their supporters in the Soviet national leadership just let them unify with Armenia with the Lachin corridor the world would've avoided a ton of bloodshed.
