I've heard the comparison is that Sunni islam is like Protestantism (more serious, text based, less spiritual) and Shi'a is more like Catholicism (crazy rituals, more pre-abrahamic influences, highest empathsis on liturgy )

sometimes, from a prodestant country, I look at catholic shit like WTF
