Judas is actually the good guy according to the Gospel of Judas, thoughts?
>>18420185>LOOOOOK THE BAD GUY IS ACTUALLY THE GOOD GUY IN MY VERSION.God I hate fanfics so much.
>>18420198tbf it wasn't such a played out trope back then.
>>18420185>criminals claim innocence>imagine my surprise
Christ looks like the fat guy in IT who is bored with your shit
>>18420185How would Judas Iscariot have time to write a book? He was immediately crucified after betraying Jesus.
>>18420185>according to the Gospel of Judaswell of course he would, wouldn't he?
>>18420185the tragedy of Judas isn't that he betrayed Christ, it's that he never asked for forgiveness. He took away the gift of life that god/christ gave to him and rejected forgiveness when he made that choice. Judas would have been an apostle if he just repented, but he choose to waste his potential. Gospel of Judas is meaningless because he killed himself and didn't write anything, it's just fanfiction from early christians who couldn't comprehend why he'd sudoku
>>18420198There is a Borges essay like this where he reevaluates Judas as the true messiah. His argument is that Judas had to suffer for all of eternity in Hell while Jesus only had to suffer a few hours on the cross and that Judas’ suicide and intentionally damning himself was more of a sacrifice for humanity than Jesus’ crucifixion ever was. Judas is as important to Jesus story as Jesus himself was.
