What about the other way around? Societies where women were treated far worse, and European intervention actually or would have elevated them. Were there any positives of living as a woman in pre-Suffrage Europe, especially compared to the rest of the world around the same tome? What specific parts of Europe was better for women? I heard Slavic and Gaelic societies were better than English or French.I heard from records from the 18th-19th centuries that Chinese women were severely opressed with all the foot binding and whatnot, and it made European society look feminist in comparison.
