A company is publishing Will Durant works here in my country from the start. Theyre working on the fourth one already.
Should i support them and buy the first 3 books? Is Durant credible?

I'm just finishing book 1. It's beautifully written and despite it's age, I find it still very credible. Of course modern historians seethe due to Great Man Theory being prevalent and he calls barbarians "savages", which adds to seethe. But I highly recommend reading the first book at least. I'm definitely going to continue the series.

His books are pretty good if you want a generally ok, sometimes annoyingly Americanized History+Philosophy For Dummies-style overview of time periods and thinkers you don’t know much about. The reason so many people sneer at Durant today is because his works seem so incredibly normie by today’s standards, but they were written for mass pleb consumption at a time when your average lower/middle class Joe on the street knew nothing about anything, and his works sold like hot cakes when they first came out for that reason
