The Council of Nicaea determined what Christian orthodoxy is and the Council of Constantinople ratified this decision in its finality. It's over. It's done. You cannot be a Christian and believe in anything contrary to the Trinity. This was decided at Nicaea. This was ratified by Constantinople. The time for having debates is over. Period point blank. There is no debate, no discussion to be had anymore about the doctrine of the Godhead. Either confess that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are consubstantial with one another or get out. You are not a Christian and will never be a Christian unless you confess the holy faith of the Nicene Creed.
The Nicean Creed shifts the blame on Pontus Oilate for the crucifixion of Christ when the Gospels tell us it was the Jews who did it and Pontus Pilate wanted nothing to do with it.

>>18423701>>18424129Pilate isn't mentioned in the Nicene Creed of the 325 Council of Nicaea. You're thinking of the Constantinopolitan Creed accepted at the Council of Chalcedon in 451 to the dismay and outrage of most of the bishops present, as it had never been an official act of the 381 Council of Constantinople, and they'd never heard of it.Funnily enough, Mary isn't mentioned in the OG creed either:>Who for us men, and for our salvation, came down and was incarnate and was made man; >He suffered, and the third day he rose again, ascended into heavenCompare this to the modified version your priest only calls the "Nicene" creed if he's uneducated, or deliberately lying and trying to impress you by backdating the innovation to an earlier time:>Who for us men, and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Ghost and of the Virgin Mary, and was made man;>he was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered, and was buried, and the third day he rose again, according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of the FatherGenerations of bishops across the empire were born, professed the Pilate-less Nicene Creed throughout their lives, and died of old age before a bunch of Constantinopolitans decided to reveal it to the world 126 years later.
