>During his campaign for governor of New York in 1928, Roosevelt declared "There are those who would tell you the government operating anything under the sun is socialism, even the postal service, which has largely replaced the old parcel express deliveries, or the highways, which have now replaced the toll roads."

>the government operating anything under the sun is socialism

Nationalize anything and you'll force the private industry to do better.
>Amazon for USPS
>SpaceX for NASA
>Palantir for the CIA

>SpaceX for NASA
In fact SpaceX actually happened because the aerospace industry merged into two megacorps by the 90s (Boeing and Lockheed-Martin) who started overcharging for space launches out of simple greed and the Air Force got tired of their shit, so Elon Musk offered a cheaper alternative.

>SpaceX for NASA
NASA is going to the moon again, meanwhile, the only thing Elon Musk put into space is a car he stole.

Fitting, for an African-American, I guess.

>I would rather have every scientific innovation be funded by government expenditures that piss money into the air because I hate Elon Musk that much

SpaceX is going to be apart of the Commercial Payload Services Program. The only reason they're not apart of Artemis is because SLS contracts were drawn up before SpaceX was even a thing
Think about that for a second
It took SLS over 15 years to get Artemis off the ground because of cost overruns and political incompetence, in less than the same timeframe, SpaceX has emerged as the biggest space launch contractor in the world with fully reusable rockets and a soon-to-be fully reusable superheavy launch vehicle with Lunar capability.
