But not only the lower classes suffered such upheaval. The petty nobility also fell victim to the rise of the modern states. One year before the German Peasants War two revolts by the petty nobility took place in the same region. Those nobles rebelled for similar reasons as the peasants: erosion of old common laws and privileges in favor of the strengthening of the larger territorial Lords. What you said is exactly what happens to the petty bourgeosie today under monopoly capitalism and corpo lobby-controlled democracy, they will suffer with the peasants/working class even if they consider themselves higher in social standing than the latter.
