Did people at the periphery of rome go hard on the "we izz roman o algo" larp just like people at the periphary of Europe/the EU go hard on the "we izz european" larp?

Or was being conquered by rome while their neighbors fought them off a shameful thing to them?

Pretty cool really. You'd guess it was some half-asssed Sultanate of Rum LARP but the Romanians really committed to the bit.

A big language reform some 250 years ago did most of the heavy lifting. I'd argue that Sardinian is the most archaic Romance language, as the island has always been hard to control by outside powers as the locals could just hide inland in inaccessible terrain..

>So both Byzantine Greek and Latin Crusader referred themselves as Empire of Romania?
Would Vlad III the impaler had recapture former imperial capital and liberate Bulgaria, after killed Mehmed II in critical night attack?

Why were the disgusting turkish scoundrels defeated and humiliated so badly at Otranto in 1480 and at the siege of Rhode in the same year ?

You are lying, bulgaria and constantinople were liberated from the failed turkish occupation in 1912 and 1918, during the Balkanic war and the defeat of the turkish at Moudros.

>romanian is closer to latin than italian is
Romanian was a Slavic-Romance creole until the 19th century. They artifically modified the language to make it more Romance, either by stealing words from modern Romance languages or Classic Latin.

Caesar & augustus were murdered by mediterranean chuds because they personally owned the alliance with egypt, bithynia, numidia, britain and germanic mercenaries. basically surrounding the entire thing and cucking the nepotists who wanted the empire to be ruled like imperial Japan instead of like imperial britain or usa.
they hid this sentiment behind bs claims of them wanting to become kings again, because they feared the concept of wannabe royal dynasties like themselves being cucked by an imperial dynasty with multiethnic supporters.

To be fair this was something basically every Romance language (and even some non-romance) did during that time period. It was part of the Enlightenment/Romantic belief that Roman Antiquity was good and logical and scientific and agreed with all my political views, while the Middle Ages were bad and illogical and superstitious and is what all my political opponents support. So obviously we should speak more like the Romans instead of icky Medieval people.
